HINGE HOOPS

Hinge Hoops privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026.

Hinge Hoops is an arcade basketball game made by CR Industries LLC. This page says what the game collects, who else collects something while you play, and what you can choose.

What Hinge Hoops collects

Nothing, of its own. There is no Hinge Hoops account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no server of ours that the game talks to. Your settings, your best scores and records, the names you type for Pass & Play, a round you leave in the middle, the power-ups you hold, and the counters that space out the adverts are all kept on your phone, and they go when you delete the game.

Apple's services

Game Center is optional. If you are signed in to it, your scores and your progress towards the achievements go to Apple, not to us, so they can appear on the leaderboards and in Game Center. Pass & Play matches and rounds played with power-ups are never posted, and a round extended with "+30 s" never reaches a leaderboard. Apple's privacy policy governs Game Center, and you can manage or remove that data in Apple's Game Center settings.

Purchases are handled by Apple. When you buy Remove Ads or a pack of power-ups, or restore Remove Ads, Apple takes the payment; the game only asks Apple, on your phone, whether Remove Ads is yours and which packs you have bought, and adds those power-ups to the ones kept on your phone. We never see your payment details. Power-ups cannot be restored: they go when you delete the game.

Advertising

Advertising is what keeps the game free, and it comes from one company: Google, through AdMob. Google's software in the game collects:

Where the adverts appear: a banner under the main menu and the results, never during a round; a full screen advert after a finished round, before its results, but never within 45 seconds of the last one or of opening the game, and never in the middle of a Pass & Play match; and optional videos you can choose to watch, at the buzzer for thirty more seconds and in the power-up shop for a free power-up. Nothing in the game requires you to watch anything.

Google's privacy policy governs what Google does with this data: https://policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

What you can choose

Adverts chosen for you. The first time you open the game, after Google's consent form where it applies, a card explains that the game is paid for by adverts, and then iOS asks whether Hinge Hoops may track you. If you allow it, Google may use Apple's advertising identifier to choose adverts for you. If you do not, you still get the whole game and every reward, and the adverts are not chosen using that identifier. You can change your answer at any time in your phone's Settings, under Privacy & Security, Tracking.

The Personalised ads switch, in the game's Settings under Ads, turns adverts chosen for you off, from then on, whatever your other answers.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before any advert is requested, and Settings, Ads, Privacy options lets you change it. In the American states with their own privacy laws, the same Privacy options row is where you opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Saying no costs you nothing: the game is the same either way.

Remove Ads is one purchase that removes every advert, the videos included: the banner, the full screen adverts between rounds and the optional videos. The "+30 s" overtime and the free power-ups stay, with no video to watch. Once you own it the game asks Google for no adverts at all, does not start Google's advertising software, and does not ask you about tracking. Google's consent tool is still asked once a launch, so that Settings can keep its Privacy options row wherever the law requires one. If the purchase is refunded, adverts come back, and so do the questions above.

Report an ad. If you see an advert that should not be there, Settings, Ads, Report an ad tells you how to send it to us, and we can block that advertiser for everyone playing.

Sharing a score

The Share button on the results screen makes a picture of your score on your phone and hands it to the iOS share sheet. It goes only where you send it, with the names you typed if it was a Pass & Play match.

Children

Hinge Hoops is not directed at children under 13, is not in the Kids category, and does not knowingly collect information from children. The adverts are limited to Google's general audiences rating.

Keeping and deleting

We keep nothing, because nothing reaches us. Everything the game keeps is on your phone and is removed when you delete the game. Your Game Center scores and achievements belong to your Game Center account with Apple, so they stay after the game is deleted. What Google keeps is governed by Google's policies.

Changes

If what the game collects changes, this page changes before the update that changes it ships, with a new date at the top.
